Alright so major thing people!
Cast aside the whole religion debate (and I'll focus on my later topics of unfair treatment of students and rules within the school for another day) because I want to talk about ACE
I just got FWD this text about it (pretty coolio if you're into the hippy stuff as much as Fuyu) and she wants to start a club at the school for the environment. Kinda iffy in this school with the lack of care but right not hippy right on. I think it's cool and I'm totally in with you chick. So I'm just gonna inform about it to help her out, but you'll wanna talk to her if you want to help in developing it!
So you can go to acespace.org and read more about the program that want to help with climate change. They hold programs and events and she's looking into all that to see any that might be able to be set up here for us. It's pretty cool business.
This is great especially with how our environment is today. Okay so I love Fuyu I'm just gonna say it. Very loud out there girl who takes to heart what she believes in and see's things through. Great leader for helping set up a club and connect with ACE on behalf of the school :D also I've known her for ever and she really loves earth (if ya can't tell). Ha I can tell this is going to be a great program and so far it's definately me and her all the way, but hey we need more people and lets face it people. In our society not many people care about many causes. They're involved in social networking and being at the top of the food chain but that's about it. We are a very self centered society, not that there is a problem with that but only to an extent. I'll say this though, if you want to start a program involving anything (and I do mean anything) this is the girl to talk to (Fuyu I mean) she's got your back and does great in everything :D so good luck to you hun!

Life is so Slow

Hmm...so everything has been pretty chill lately. Nothing really motivating a movement. I think everyone kind of settled down once they started focusing on curiousity. I mean I know you're all dying to know who I am so here are some clues.
I'm quiet and not who you would suspect. I'm everything I need to be inorder to achieve what I want to. I'm a master of disguise and a genius all around, yet you'll never know because I'm known to be a clown. I have my sources who tell me what I need to know, even if it happens to be exact quotes. So there is really no guessing just who I am, because quite frankly I'm more than one of your friends. ;)
Ha so obviously I'm very cunning people, but I certainly would never lie about my causes so just be aware of that.

TAKS testing was very droll today. Long and boring. Plus everyone finished super early and it was barely noon when we had nothing to do. I didn't really eat much which blew. As you can see without the fire to light my day of protesting I'm pretty average. I play softball.

Back to the important things my friends. I'm sure I'm very close to many of my readers, though you aren't aware of just who I am, ha. I'm thinking we all get together sometime and discuss possible plans to show support for change in the school. I need to know just how many followers I have in the school so I CAN RULE THE WORLD!!!!!!!!! hahaha j/k j/k Actually if I know about how many people support me I can actually see if the change can move forward. Let's also say that a bunch of people notice our "sign" (this of course will make sense once I establish what it is) then they may be curious and ask about it. This could lead to more people joining us.

Okay so let's establish a date and the sign is already obvious, but for those who do not know: our symbol is a rose, preferably white but any color will due. Hmm...there needs to be time for everyone to read this so how about this. Comment saying you'd be willing to wear the symbol for a day showing you want change and maybe even other issues you have with the school or benificial ideas, and next blog I'll give more details to plans of action :D

Worries

I think a big problem with people standing up for what they believe in comes with them being scared. For me that fear is for others, but some people are scared for themselves. In a world were people are punished for going against others even if it's for something positive, even if they do what's initially right in their eyes in the best way they know possible, there is still a large chance that they will be the ones being punished. As much as I want to fight and as much as I know this whole religious thing is something worth bringing up I am largely scared that others will get in trouble just from my say so or from me saying what supporting details I know though I won't mention names ever. Of course I have set up a Facebook page for this and I have this blog venting my ideas about this, yet I know myself and the many students who I've spoken to about this issue are scared of the things the school may do to us for expressing ourselves, though our intentions are good and we aren't doing anything in a harmful manner. So for the time being everything is hush hush and anyone who tries looking to see who I am won't know ;) I'm sneaky folks. Ya'll can keep a look out for my fliers though: just a little strip of paper about the site and the cause feel free to pass it on. Remember the goal is for the whole school to slowly become aware of the inequality within it's own walls. Thanks

Religion

So of course in the current society we live in, religion and school don't mix. This isn't a problem because it's a way to keep conflicts out of the lives of the students, but the fact is that some schools are still pressured and conflicted heavily with the ideas are major religions. Yes, this country is very religious, and yes most of these schools are in fact in the religious belt of America, but the government and law strictly states that religion and school should not mix and if it's any other religion other than what the school and society as a majority preaches there is an objection. My school though is not accepting as they believe they are. Further more, most parents failing to see the rights this country has worked for because of their hypocricy, object to anything in education involving any other religion other than the major one of our American society.
Background to Topic: I'm sitting in class today and we begin talking about the black history program that our school had (My school is mainly black and mexican yet we only have a black history program...this is a later topic). While a majority of African American music is gospel music, the entire program was in fact that of a Sunday morning in Church. Church does not equal school, I'm sorry it just doesn't. The sad part being in that one girl recited the poem Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou and they changed one word, because they could not speak about the ride in a woman's beast, and yet today speaking to us about the TAKS test (a state test in Texas) they could say some of us were born to go to hell and that only us and God know what happens. I find that odd in many ways and in some parts am dying to protest such things.
Don't think that I am against religions or anything, because I could care less about what people choose to believe in. My best friend is in fact very religious and I go to church with her whenever I am invited though I am Buddist. I am respectful of everyone's choices, yet I find it highly offensive when people are hyprocritical or ignorant of other's beliefs.
This issue should be addressed because no student should feel as though they are in church when they go to an assembly or feel they are talking to a preacher when it's actually their principal. Start a movement into a tolerable age in our school so the next generation has something to look forward to instead of this.

The Start

Alright so obviously here is my first blog-well on here anyways. I'm not going to say one specific thing i'm going to talk about cause i know some people are all like "i'm gonna gossip about stars! or be a critic" but actually i just talk and write about everything ha not that it matters right? anyways sometimes i'll be pretty philosophical other times i'll just be whever.

So on another note: Currently in my school there is a protest to the recent decision to make us all wear uniforms next year. While I completely reject the idea- especially since this will be my senior year- I find the constant complaints without action to be quite pointless. There are points to both sides.

Positives: Cheaper in the long run, protects from gangs, and people can't form clicks based on clothing

Negatives: It takes away from individuality and expression

Now obviously there are far more pro's than con's, but the level of each holds it own. One thing that should be pointed out though is that many people use this con as a way to justify why the uniform is wrong, yet they fail to see they do not actually dress as a form of expression but rather as a way to fit in socially. When you buy what everyone else wears because everyone else wears it or because you want to show off how much money you have and such you aren't actually expressing yourself or being an individual but conforming per say. This isn't to say that there is something wrong with this, because quite frankly this is natural. There are a few who are still expressive though, such as goths- though that is becoming conformative as well. I personally feel I'm one of the most fashionably expressive people in my school, and hearing about the uniforms was bunk- a bummer- yet it's not the end of the world. I see it as a challenge rather. For everyone who says "I express myself through clothing." and you happen to be in the same situation, see it as a challenge. To truly be an individual you must be able to change what others push upon you. Find ways to bend around and show your self even with all the rules :D I know I've already started my plans to modify the outfits for next year.
